American Silk Mills is set to unveil three new collections that showcase a wider range of prices and versatility at the upcoming ITA Showtime Market in June.
“These collections are among the most diverse we’ve introduced because they embrace innovation and performance, yet are founded in the design heritage of American Silk Mills,” said David Corbin, CEO of American Silk Mills. “We recognize that consumers desire beautiful, luxurious fabrics that are also casual and approachable. We want to create fabrics that speak to people’s aspirations yet fit within their daily lifestyle.”
The collections, EnduroSilk, Essentials and Pattern Play, in addition to including more pricing options and versatility, are also among the first to benefit from synergies between American Silk Mills and its parent company Sutlej Textiles and Industries Limited.
“For American Silk Mills, this Showtime Market brings forward beauty, innovation and performance, and each collection embodies one or more of these elements,” said Susan Hedgecock, creative director for American Silk Mills. “We’ve drawn inspiration from our pattern and fabric archives, which are among the most extensive in the world, to create collections with definitive points of view, ranging from the heritage and legacy of the company to comfortable, livable yet innovative fabrics.”
With the EnduroSilk collection, American Silk Mills has combined the look and feel of silk with the durability of a performance fabric. This bleach cleanable, stain resistant and light fast collection was made for both indoor and outdoor use, and is available in two looks.
The first look, called the Thoroughbred collection, is inspired by sailing and equestrian sport and utilizes vibrant colors “reminiscent of jockey silks and regatta flags,” according to a release. The second collection calls back to the history of American Silk Mills with a palette of tinted neutrals and patterns “reminiscent of the classic palazzo.”
The Essentials collection from American Silk Mills was designed around its color options. This collection of 16 stocked fabrics showcase both a warm and cool neutral color palette in a material with high abrasion resistance and a Prop 65 compliant Nanotex protective finish.
The Pattern Play collection, the smallest of American Silk Mills’ collection introductions this market, combines a mix of yarns and textures to create intricate and colorful graphics. Available in four contemporary patterns, the collection’s color palette features colors like ochre, indigo, henna, tobacco, aubergine and bloodroot.
